Integrated pressure sensor
01 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Festo Pty Ltd
A pressure sensor is now integrated into the Festo MPA valve terminal, allowing pressures to be monitored directly over the fieldbus system. This high level of integration is a low-cost solution as it saves considerable time and money otherwise spent on a more complex installation.

Bürkert has released a range of digital displays with indicator, totaliser and counter functionality, as part of the eLine range of electronic devices.
BCM load cells
01 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Bestech Australia Pty Ltd
The model 3417/3497 single-ended shear beam load cells from BCM Sensors are low-profile, high-precision load cells based on the shear-beam working principle. These load cells can find applications in hopper scales and platform scales, or can be used to measure beam bending loads.
Digital pressure gauges

The Noshok 1000 series digital pressure gauge features an integrated battery with up to 4000 h of battery life, eliminating the necessity of fixed power supplies.
Amalgamated Instrument differential pressure transmitter
01 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Amalgamated Instrument Co
The WS-TPDPT7 transmitters are available in three models with selectable ranges. The high accuracy model measures ranges from 0-25 Pa to 0-100 Pa in four selectable ranges, the standard model measures ranges from 0-50 Pa to 0-2500 Pa in eight selectable ranges and the high-pressure model measures ranges from 0-5000 Pa to 0-10000 Pa in six selectable ranges.
Panel mount rate and total display
01 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Amalgamated Instrument Co
The PM6-TR is a ratemeter/totaliser and supersedes both the PM6-FX and PM6-FC models. This single 1/8 DIN panel meter offers the ability to monitor and indicate rate and count (or total) from a wide variety of pulse output sensors. The display can be toggled between rate and total using a remote input.
Compact orifice DP flowmeters
01 April, 2009 | Supplied by: ABB Australia Pty Ltd
The OriMaster compact orifice DP flowmeter is a one-piece flowmeter that comes fully factory configured and pressure tested, solving many of the problems associated with sizing, selection, installation and operation of conventional orifice plate installations.
Thermal dispersion gas flowmeter
01 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Endress+Hauser Australia Pty Ltd
The Proline t-mass 65 thermal dispersion flowmeter provides a direct measurement of gas mass flow and temperature.
Inline water quality monitoring in distribution pipelines
01 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Westwater Enterprises
The Intellisonde multi-parameter monitoring system is a measuring device designed for direct insertion into potable water pipeline distribution networks, providing benefits including: continuous water quality monitoring within the distribution system; integration into a water utility data collection system such as SCADA; providing real-time and historical data — both alphanumeric and graphical; assistance with compliance and regulatory requirements; analysis of the distribution network; and minimising risk of contamination posed by bursts and repairs.
Burkert Fluid Control Systems sanitary mag flowmeter
01 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Burkert Fluid Control Systems
Dedicated to process applications that do not require local push-button programming or display, the blind Type 8056 sanitary mag flowmeter delivers high accuracy over a wide flow velocity range. The Type 8056 is engineered for fast filling applications with short reaction time, high-speed sampling (short sampling/measurement time) and high-speed frequency output, making it suitable for filling systems.
Oil-in-water measurement
01 April, 2009 | Supplied by: Environmental & Process Technologies
Enviro-Flu-HC is a new generation of highly sensitive submersible sensors for oil-in-water measurement. The UV fluorescence principle used for detection is claimed to be more sensitive than other existing detection principles, such as infrared scattering.
Mimicking nature for better flow sensors
30 March, 2009
Researchers are using the motion-sensing hairs on a blind cavefish as a blueprint for advanced flow sensors.
Interface level detection — what to consider
19 March, 2009 | Supplied by: Endress+Hauser Australia Pty Ltd
Compared to standard level measurements in liquids, the detection and measurement of interfaces has its own particular challenges, leaving many interface applications without reliable level measurement. Most popular today are the electronic or non-mechanical solutions with no moving mechanical parts which offer much higher long-term stability and low-maintenance operation.
Passive sonar flowmeter technology — operating principles
18 March, 2009 | Supplied by: KROHNE Australia Pty Ltd
Flow measurements in the mineral processing and mining industry suffer from the limitations placed by previously available flowmeters including the commonly used instruments such as ultrasonic meters, magmeters, turbine meters, orifice plate meters, vortex meters, Coriolis meters and Venturi meters. The desire or requirement to make a non-contact measurement that is accurate and robust, and can be performed on practically any type of fluid within practically any type of pipe, has driven the creation of a new class of flowmeters.
Data acquisition system
15 March, 2009 | Supplied by: ETMC Technologies
Heim Systems has developed a flexible, compact distributed data acquisition system, DATaRec 4, that consists of interface modules that can be positioned up to 10 m from each other, or mechanically linked to make a compact acquisition unit.
