Amalgamation of Haydon Switch and Kerk Motion expands product range.

Turck metal differentiating proximity sensors

23 November, 2009 | Supplied by: Turck Australia Pty Ltd

Turck has announced its analog+ proximity sensors have been enhanced to differentiate between varying types of metal during detection — independent of their distance from the sensor. Available in ring and flat housings, these material detection sensors provide sensing ranges up to 11 mm and are suitable for stamping, die-cutting and metal-sorting applications, where different metal types must be readily and accurately detected.

Macrosensors RSE 1500 Series rotary position sensors

13 November, 2009 | Supplied by: Bestech Australia Pty Ltd

The RSE 1500 Series rotary position sensors from Macrosensors are contactless, fractional-turn, absolute output rotary position sensors providing an analog output voltage proportional to shaft rotation over a total range of up to 120°.

Kistler Staiger Mohilo NC joining module

13 November, 2009 | Supplied by: SI Instruments

The Kistler Staiger Mohilo NC joining module is suitable for force-displacement monitored assembly press-fit and joining processes in compact configurations.

Kawasaki RS10L, RS20N, RS50N and RS80N robots

13 November, 2009 | Supplied by: JMP Engineering Ltd

A range of Kawasaki six-axis articulated arm robots has been announced by JMP Engineering. The R-series offers advanced performance and functionality, and are designed to replace the existing F-series robots.

Magnetic linear encoders

10 November, 2009 | Supplied by: Turck Australia Pty Ltd

Turck has introduced a line of Kübler robust magnetic linear encoders. Utilising A and B output voltage channels plus a periodic index with the corresponding inverted channels, these encoders are designed to achieve high accuracy in a broad range of linear motion applications. The T8.LI20 and T8.LI50 linear encoders are available with either a push-pull output or an RS422 interface and provide a voltage range from 4.8 to 30 VDC.

Registration mark sensors

10 November, 2009 | Supplied by: Micromax Pty Ltd

The R58A Series registration mark sensors from Banner Engineering are designed for detecting registration marks in printing and material registration applications often found in the web printing, product packaging and pharmaceutical industries.

Servo drive with advanced safety

10 November, 2009 | Supplied by: Rockwell Automation Australia

The Allen-Bradley Kinetix 6200 servo drive has advanced safety features that are designed to help manufacturers protect personnel and improve production efficiency.

Electric linear actuator

10 November, 2009 | Supplied by: Pneumatic Products

The integrated-motor actuator (IMA) from Tolomatic combines a servomotor with Tolomatic’s rod-style actuator in a compact package. The IMA’s integrated design provides higher dynamic performance by eliminating the need for separate motors, couplers, motor mounts, gearing and belts. The result is reduced component costs, assembly time and failure points.

Controllers with long-life contacts

10 November, 2009 | Supplied by: Cynebar

Watlow has developed its No-Arc technology that extends the life of relays. A No-Arc relay is a mechanical relay with arc suppression provided through the use of smart electronics. This technology reduces the amount of arcing across the relay contacts and has a life of more than four million cycles compared to relays without arc suppression that have a life of approximately 100,000 operations.

Non-contact torque sensor

10 November, 2009 | Supplied by: Metromatics Pty Ltd

Futek Advanced Sensor Technology has introduced an internally amplified rotary torque sensor. The sensor is a non-contact (slip-ring-free) rotary torque sensor, using inductance for power and output signals, and has a compact design and supports rotational speeds of up to 7000 rpm.

Gantry-mounted robot

10 November, 2009 | Supplied by: ABB Australia Pty Ltd

ABB has launched its first robot combining the advantages of an articulated robot and a linear gantry for improved flexibility and cycle times.

Optical encoders

26 October, 2009 | Supplied by: Turck Australia Pty Ltd

Turck has released the Kübler F36 optical encoder series, designed completely without gears to eliminate wear and sensitivity to magnetic fields. F36 absolute encoders feature a compact size of 36 mm with a hollow shaft diameter of up to 10 mm, making them suitable for drive engineering and medical applications.

Compact robot

26 October, 2009 | Supplied by: ABB Australia Pty Ltd

ABB has launched its smallest ever multipurpose industrial robot, the compact and lightweight six-axis IRB 120. Available with a new compact version of the IRC5 controller, the robot weighs just 25 kg and can handle a payload of 3 kg (or 4 kg with a vertical wrist) with a reach of 580 mm.
