Westermo ethernet extender
14 March, 2009 | Paqworks
Westermo has released a high-speed industrial ethernet extender. The DDW-120 utilises SHDSL transmission technology, allowing existing twisted pair cables to be used to establish a high-speed remote connection between two ethernet networks. With transfer rates up to 5.7 Mbps and an operating distance of up to 15 km at lower data rates, this is an easy-to-install alternative to fibre-optic or radio systems when linking remote ethernet networks.
Plant interaction hotspot tool
14 March, 2009 | Lyon MacIntyre Ltd
ExperTune’s PlantTriage software now includes a tool that graphically highlights plant interactions. Using the Interaction Hot Spots tool, engineers can quickly pinpoint the root cause of process interactions. Engineers can resolve these upsets to improve quality, energy, production rate and process uptime.
HMI with integrated controller
14 March, 2009 | Festo Pty Ltd
The FED-CEC is a flexible and space-optimised HMI system. The display unit and controller are combined in a single unit, which means that system designers have only one component to purchase, program and install. It is a space-saving controller concept, created by integrating a processor module based on the CoDeSys software platform into the Festo Front End Display range.
Vectron Active frequency inverter
13 March, 2009 | Bonfiglioli Transmission Pty Ltd
Bonfiglioli’s Vectron Active range of frequency inverters can be used in a wide range of applications, from continuous drives for simple conveyor belts to complex networked applications in manufacturing plant and machinery. They are also suitable for use as portable power supplies and provide a performance range that extends from 0.37 to 800 kW.
Operator interfaces
13 March, 2009 | Pilz Australia Industrial Automation LP
The fourth-generation Pilz PMI operator interface and diagnostic display units offer improved performance. Both the PMIvisu and PMIopen series are available in the fourth-generation specification, with the PMIvisu models being suitable for diagnostics and visualisation with PNOZmulti modular safety systems, PSS programmable safety and control systems and SafetyBUS p networks. The fourth-generation PMIvisu units can also be used as graphics systems for all common programmable logic controllers (PLCs). If custom software needs to be run on the display, then the PMIopen operator terminals can be specified.
Bi-planar chain conveyor

The Realcold Millers Mechanical 3D-Veyor Bi-Planer Chain Conveyor systems are especially suitable for the food processing industry and have applications in many other areas requiring conveying systems.
Industrial bus test tool
13 March, 2009 | Fluke Australia Pty Ltd
The Fluke 225C and 215C ScopeMeter test tools, with automated test capability for Fieldbus, Profibus and other industrial communication protocols, are designed for maintenance specialists who keep automation and process plant equipment operational. The instruments feature easy signal validation of all the critical signal parameters like amplitude and noise, and have floating and fully isolated inputs for true differential signal measurements on 2-wire differential bus systems.
Vibrators
13 March, 2009 | Vibration Systems & Solutions (Australia) Pty Ltd
Standard pneumatic or electric vibrators are still the easiest option to help material flow from bins. They are easily fitted, needing only a channel or plate welded to the outside of the bin, with no cutting of the bin wall or requirement for any work in a confined space. In many cases this can be done with product in the bin, so that production is not interrupted. Regular-shaped circular or square hoppers usually only need one unit, giving savings in installation costs and in the cost of air, in the case of pneumatic models.
Extended automation system
13 March, 2009 | ABB Australia Pty Ltd
ABB’s Extended Automation System 800xA is designed to provide a platform for unified operations to increase productivity and power reliability for process manufacturers in all industries. The combination of these systems into one yields significant savings for users in terms of costs and manpower.
Fast/Gigabit Ethernet switch
13 March, 2009 | Daanet Pty Ltd
The managed Fast/Gigabit Ethernet switch of the MACH1000 family from Hirschmann Automation and Control has all its ports with the exception of a service port located on the rear of the device. The 24 Fast Ethernet ports, up to four of which support PoE, are available with M12 connections as well as in any combination for other connectors such as MTRJ, St, SC or RJ45. For the gigabit uplinks, two combo ports (10/100/1000 Base-Tx) are optionally available and can be equipped with SFP fibre modules (1000 Base-Fx/SX/LX/LH). In this way, the new design offers a high bandwidth in combination with industry-proven M12 connection technology.
Leaky cable antenna
13 March, 2009 | Daanet Pty Ltd
Hirschmann Automation and Control has expanded its range of industrial WLAN products to include the leaky cable. This flexible antenna can be used to establish a pipe-shaped transmission field on the 2.4 GHz band with a range of up to 100 m. This easy-to-install solution is particularly suitable for use in long and narrow areas in buildings or production areas. The flexibility of the cable enables even corners to be lit up well.
