Gear reducers

09 June, 2009 | Baldor Australia Pty Ltd

Baldor has announced an expanded size range and multiple configurations for the Dodge MagnaGear XTR reducer. The reducer is designed for reliability, ease of maintenance and high performance in tough, high-torque applications.

Rate controller

09 June, 2009 | Scale Components Pty Ltd

Hardy Instruments’ HI 4060 is a compact, single-feeder, closed-loop rate controller for use in a variety of applications, including auger, belt and vibratory-based feeders, converting them from volumetric to gravimetric. After supplying excitation to the load sensors and digitising the weight signal, the rate controller provides an analog output to control the feeder speed and adjusts this signal based on the required rate at which the feeder is losing weight. This rate controller features an embedded web server, true five-point automatic rate calibration, automatic feeder refill, various alarms including rate tolerance and disturbance, and optional DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, remote I/O, Profibus, Modbus TCP/IP and analog communications. It also includes Hardy’s Waversaver technology to eliminate the effects of surrounding vibration for fast, stable weight display, electronic calibration without test weights, an <0x000A>SD memory module card for fast transfer of configuration data and integrated system diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Modelling and simulation software

09 June, 2009 | MathWorks Australia

The MathWorks has announced Release 2009a (R2009a) of its MATLAB, Simulink and PolySpace product families. R2009a includes extended support for multicore and multiprocessor systems, two new products, new features in MATLAB and Simulink, and enhancements to more than 90 other MathWorks products.

Kinematics control solution

09 June, 2009 | SEW-Eurodrive Pty Ltd

Combining kinematics control with conventional motion control, the MOVI-PLC Kinematics motion controller now provides manufacturers with six degrees of freedom controllability — comprising three-dimensional positioning and three planes of orientation.

Thermal dispersion flow switches

09 June, 2009 | Control Components Pty Ltd

The Kayden line of products is based on the thermal dispersion principle of operation. The Classic 800 was conceived to meet the extreme demands of the oil and gas industries, and there are no moving parts to fail, no mechanical trim pots to adjust.

Load cell

09 June, 2009 | Control Overload Pty Ltd

The KIMD-M load cell module is for harsh environments and heavy-duty applications and has a movable load point to allow for thermal expansion of the weigh system.

Temperature controllers with ladder logic

09 June, 2009 | Yokogawa Australia Pty Ltd

The UTAdvanced is a digital indicating controller with a sequence control function, which offers greatly improved measurement, display, operation, control and networking functions. It also eliminates the need for peripheral devices and associated wiring.

Inline liquid density measurement

09 June, 2009 | Endress+Hauser Australia Pty Ltd

With Liquiphant M, Endress+Hauser has used the ‘vibrating fork’ principle of liquid level measurement to enable the accurate and in-situ measurement of liquid density. The resonant frequency of the Liquiphant M’s vibrating fork changes with the varying densities of the materials in which it is placed. This change is used to compute the density or concentration of the medium resulting in instantaneous, repeatable density measurements.

Low-power RTU

09 June, 2009 | Rockwell Automation Australia

Rockwell Automation has introduced an all-in-one controller with SCADA capabilities which is suitable for remote and harsh environments.

Heavy-duty rod locks

09 June, 2009 | Norman G Clark Pty Ltd

Nexen’s RLSS Series rod locks deliver good holding capabilities with low backlash for demanding linear motion control applications where high accuracy is required. The spring-engaged, air-released series — available in a wide array of standard and custom sizes — features a wide clamping surface to ensure high holding forces even during power/pressure loss.

Pinpoint photoelectric sensors

09 June, 2009 | SICK Pty Ltd

Sick has released a range of photoelectric switches and photoelectric proximity switches in which pinpoint LED technology concentrates energy on a smaller area and increases the intensity of the light spot.

Polymer extrusion control system

09 June, 2009 | Tasman Machinery Pty Ltd

Dynisco Instruments has recently released the OPT.TROL polymer control system for control of extrusion lines. This system is designed for small to medium-sized extrusion lines and can either be equipped onto new extrusion lines or retrofitted to upgrade existing extrusion lines.

Basic bulk bag filler

09 June, 2009 | Flexicon Corporation (Australia) Pty Limited

The Model BFB basic bulk bag filler performs low-capacity filling operations at minimal cost and can be upgraded with performance enhancements including a material delivery system integrated with the user’s process equipment or bulk storage vessels.

Evcco FRAS polymer safety conduit

09 June, 2009 | Albatech Pty Ltd

The Evcco FRAS polymer safety conduit offers a halogen-free flame-retardant (HFFR) polymer formulation developed as an alternative to PVC and metal conduits.

M9200 thermal imagers

09 June, 2009 | W&B Instruments Pty Ltd

Mikron Infrared has released the M9200 series of process thermal imagers. The imagers operate at short wavelength and are specifically designed for high temperature applications up to 3000 °C with an accuracy of ±0.5 of reading.
