Temperature switch with rotating set-up dials
The compact TK series switch and its 316 stainless steel RTD probe measure only 72 mm and the probe is directly mounted into a pipe. Two mechanical set-up dials rotate to quickly establish the setpoint and resetpoint temperatures. The switch’s high accuracy ensures that the setpoint does not drift and calibration is not required.
Two bright LEDs indicate switching and operating status. With no moving parts to stick in the process or break, the TK series temperature switch maintains high-performance and long-term stability. Electrical connection is achieved with an industry-standard Micro DC connector. A locking device prevents unintentional setpoint changes.
The ifm temperature switch uses a Pt1000 RTD for temperature measurement. The Pt1000 RTD is a platinum resistor that exhibits a resistance of 1000 Ω at 0 °C. Platinum is used because of its optimal linearity and stability with temperature. The signal from the RTD is evaluated by a microprocessor inside the temperature control monitor. The microprocessor, along with electrical components, is mounted on a flexible, temperature-stable polyamide film. RTDs do not require the cold junction compensation of a thermocouple and are shock and vibration resistant.
TK series switches are micro DC units with G1/4 BSPP process connections. Operating temperature range is -25 to 140 °C. Two models are available: PNP, NO/NC output with adjustable hysteresis (minimum 3 °C); and PNP, two NO outputs with fixed hysteresis (minimum 5 °C).
