Servo drive with advanced safety

Tuesday, 10 November, 2009 | Supplied by: Rockwell Automation Australia

The Allen-Bradley Kinetix 6200 servo drive has advanced safety features that are designed to help manufacturers protect personnel and improve production efficiency.

The Kinetix 6200 servo drive includes features such as safe stop, zero speed monitoring, safe direction monitoring, and safe maximum acceleration monitoring. The safety features help improve machine operating efficiencies by providing safer access to guarded areas while a machine or process continues operation under limited conditions.

With all this safety technology embedded in a streamlined physical design, the Kinetix 6200 helps eliminate the need for additional panel space and wiring typically required when using an external safety monitor. In addition, the drive allows for fast changes in feature and communication selection, with an axis that can easily transition from safe-off to safe speed functionality, or from SERCOS interface to EtherNet/IP networking.

The Kinetix 6200 safe speed servo drive is designed for applications that guard against personal injury or machinery damage and require safe speed monitoring, such as smart conveyors, automotive assembly lines, food and beverage, and web-based applications.
