Modern Manufacturing Expo comes to Sydney in 2022
Australia’s first Modern Manufacturing Expo has been announced for 2022. It will be held at Sydney Showground from 20–21 September, and is planned to be an event where leading suppliers will connect with manufacturers to showcase the latest technologies and equipment to power-up operations and processes.
The Modern Manufacturing Expo will showcase the future of manufacturing, highlighting the path on the digital transformation journey with a focus on the latest technology, equipment and operational models, in line with the Australian Government’s Modern Manufacturing Strategy.
“The NSW Government recognises that manufacturing is undergoing a transformation,” said Marie Kinsella, Chief Executive Officer, International Exhibition & Conference Group Pty Ltd. “And the federal government has developed a whole-of-government strategy to help Australian manufacturing scale up, become more competitive and resilient. This event is the culmination of many months of research, discussions and collaboration with government, education, regulators and key organisations to ensure we present an event that will lead us through the next five years to establish a strong and sustainable manufacturing sector.”
This Expo is a showcase of the latest in intelligent products, resources and technology for Australian manufacturers in order to drive the shift required in advanced manufacturing, including:
- digital and smart factories;
- green and sustainable manufacturing;
- warehouse automation;
- digital learn models;
- additive and advanced manufacturing;
- production automation equipment.
A pre-event educational program organised in conjunction with The University of Sydney — the ‘Modern Manufacturing Town Hall’ — will be held on Tuesday, 16 February 2022 at the Waterview Conference Centre, Bicentennial Park. This event incorporates the launch of the Modern Manufacturing Expo 2022 and is supported by The University of Sydney’s Sydney Manufacturing Hub — a new core research facility dedicated to additive manufacturing and advanced materials processing. It will feature presentations from NSW manufacturers and a seminar series on best practice in advanced manufacturing from industry leaders.
