Phoenix Contact scalable fieldbus infrastructure solutions
18 September, 2011 | Supplied by: Phoenix Contact Pty Ltd
Preconfigured field distribution boxes allow Profibus PA or Foundation fieldbus process devices to be directly connected in the field. The stainless steel or aluminium housing modules accommodate components that permit the connection and termination of the fieldbus trunk cable. Surge voltage protection and different shielding concepts can be subsequently added. Users can freely select which types and how many modular device couplers are connected, and can also expand these at a later date.

Pepperl+Fuchs intrinsically safe transmitter power supplies
07 July, 2011 | Supplied by: Pepperl+Fuchs (Aust) Pty Ltd
Pepperl+Fuchs has released four transmitter power supplies for intrinsically safe applications up to SIL3. The transmitter power supplies for the K- and H-Systems have each been extended to include two additional modules that are designed for intrinsically safe applications up to SIL 3 according to EN61508. The advantage of these supplies is that only a single transmitter is required to construct an intrinsically safe signal circuit for SIL 3. Previously for SIL 3 this was only possible using two separate inputs, both of which had to be monitored for redundancy reasons. Internal diagnostic functions are also signalled via a single output and red LED, and prescribed test intervals can be extended for SIL 2 applications.
