Colour vision sensor

15 March, 2009 by

The FZ3 colour vision sensor, providing true colour technology, high dynamic range and five million pixels resolution, is designed to make it possible to automate inspection of low-contrast colour objects at high speed with reliable results. Omron’s Advanced Real Color Sensing (ARCS) engine captures and processes 16.77 million colours, approaching human colour perception, and is claimed to outperform systems that use monochrome or false-colour contrast conversion and analysis methods.

Image sensor

15 March, 2009 by

Banner Engineering has introduced the iVu series image sensor, combining a photoelectric sensor and a vision sensor in one unit. The iVu also features a 68.5 mm LCD touch screen with an intuitive interface and easily configurable inspection parameters. This allows even first-time users to quickly and conveniently apply and support inspections right on the factory floor, without the use of a PC.

Firewire cameras

01 November, 2008

Designed for use in machine vision and industrial applications, the KP-FD140F and KP-FD32F cameras from Hitachi are high-resolution single-colour CCD progressive scan cameras with IEEEE 1394.b. The latest Firewire B interface allows direct high-speed data transfer between the camera and the PC using a small eight-conductor cable.

Motorised lens cameras

05 October, 2008

Leutron Vision’s PicSight modular camera solution makes it possible for an image to be automatically adapted to different object sizes. PicSight Gigabit-Ethernet and smart cameras are now fitted with a fully integrated socket enabling motorised lenses with C or CS mountings to be connected directly to them.

Vision-guided keg depalletising

25 August, 2008

Canterbury Breweries supplies draft beer in kegs to many of New Zealand’s South Island drinking establishments. These kegs come in 25 or 50 kg sizes and are recycled through a system that sees full kegs leaving the brewery on wooden pallets and empty kegs returning from the pubs and restaurants on the same pallets.
