Hirschmann Automation and Control has expanded its range of industrial WLAN products to include the leaky cable. This flexible antenna can be used to establish a pipe-shaped transmission field on the 2.4 GHz band with a range of up to 100 m. This easy-to-install solution is particularly suitable for use in long and narrow areas in buildings or production areas. The flexibility of the cable enables even corners to be lit up well.

Leaky cable is a coaxial cable with defined openings in the screen, through which the HF signal can be transmitted or received over the entire length of the cable. The sets are available in a length of 50 or 100 m. The leaky cables come with N-jack connectors on both ends. The set includes one mounting clip for each metre of cable. The scope of delivery of the 50 m set also includes a 50 Ω terminating resistor.
