Radiation source holder

Tuesday, 17 January, 2006 | Supplied by: Analogue & Digital Measurements Pty Ltd

Analogue & Digital Measurements has released the ASHF2 series of radiation sourceholders.

The ASHF2 is manufactured from cast steel with tungsten as the primary radiation shield. All these materials have a melting point in excess of 1500°C making the ASHF2 one of the safest source holders available.

The unit can be supplied with a maximum of 1500 mCi of Caesium 137 making it suitable for most applications. Teamed with an A&DM 4100B GM level switch, this is a solution to measure and control point levels of slurries and solids in silos, bins, process vessels and pipes.

Certified in all states of Australia, the ASHF2 contains no lead, ensuring it exceeds the code of practice. Available also for special applications, the unit can be supplied in either cast stainless steel or cast aluminium bronze. The ASHF2 suffers no long-term degradation problems that seriously affect older steel and lead-based designs.

Cost savings are also realised as the ASHF2 source holder can be reloaded when the current source is depleted or is past its rated working life. Other prominent features are the heavy indent giving firm and positive ON/OFF positioning, which is lockable in the OFF position only. The rotating shutter design makes the source a stationary item.
