Maplesoft has released the Global Optimisation Toolbox.
The toolbox extends the power of Maple 9.5, the principal desktop productivity environment software from Maplesoft. The Toolbox helps obtain answers to modelling problems that have many possible solutions, while under complicated constraints.
Optimisation models are defined using the Maple numeric and symbolic system, and then solved by the numeric solvers, all within the Maple environment. Within this environment, the user has the additional advantages of natural and flexible problem definition, syntax-free visualisations, and technical knowledge management capabilities, making this a good tool for solving optimisation problems.
Application areas include advanced engineering modelling, medical research, chemical processes and finance.
