The HiPR-900 uses Dataradio's parallel decode technology to provide optimised IP communications for long-range, private wireless data communications in unlicensed 900 MHz spectrum. With the HiPR-900, users can extend their IP-based network into the field for mobile, SCADA and industrial applications.

With user selectable data rates up to 512 Kbps and data compression, the HiPR-900 over-the-air throughput provides virtually continuous data in a licence-free band satisfying the user who requires high-speed data for video or other throughput intensive applications.

Parallel Decode technology uses 'smart' receivers to automatically and continually decode signals from two antennas. Using dual antennas makes it possible to get much longer range. Users can choose gain on the main Tx/Rx antenna to stay within legal spectrum power limits but put as much gain as necessary on the parallel Rx for additional range and performance. Alternatively, a distant station can be brought into coverage with a directional parallel Rx antenna while a low gain omnidirectional one is used for local sites.

In applications operating in a dynamic environment with moving machinery, a cross polarised antenna can be used to overcome problematic multi-path fading effects. Parallel decode will automatically choose the best signal regardless of the path. The HiPR-900 can be used as either an access point or an end-point. Each unit can be configured in bridge or router mode and has both serial and ethernet ports.
