HMI PCs

ICP Electronics Australia has released the HMI (human-machine interface) series of rugged PCs. These embedded ETX systems have been designed to streamline industrial automation and control applications.

The HMI Series is available with an 8.4 or 10.4" sized TFT LCD. These systems are equipped with an embedded low-power ETX CPU module, supporting an NS GX1-300 MHz or VIA EDEN-400 MHz processor.

These interchangeable ETX CPU modules allow HMI application integrators to save money by upgrading just the CPU module (and not the peripheral baseboard) to achieve performance scalability.

The HMI Series supports a range of peripheral devices via the system's integrated connectors. These include two 10/100 Mbps ethernet ports, three COM ports, parallel port, CompactFlash Type II socket, two USB 1.1 ports, PS/2 port and two audio ports.

The HMI Series supports a 2.5" IDE hard disk drive and offers 48 MB DOM (disk on module) with Windows CE .NET operating system pre-installed. Externally accessible CompactFlash provides a provision for future application installation.

The DOM is fanless and comparably more stable and secure than hard disk drives, as well as offering heat and shock resistance for applications in harsh environments. The 128 MB SDRAM onboard provides enough memory for resource-consuming applications to operate.

This Windows-based series with an integrated resistive touchscreen panel allows operators to control and monitor important activities on several machines at the same time.
