Gigabit, modular industrial ethernet switch
CrispTech has introduced the EDS-728, a new entry into the Moxa modular ethernet switch series that supports up to four Gigabit ports, 24 fast ethernet ports, and advanced network control.
The industrial grade EDS-728 is designed for redundant Gigabit network backbones and uses a modular configuration to provide a high degree of flexibility for network expansion.
The switch's features include: QoS, IGMP snooping/GMRP; VLAN; LACP; SNMP V1/V2c/V3, and RMON. It claims to provide top network performance, security and reliability.
Networks are increasingly expected to support high-bandwidth applications such as video and VoIP, and Gigabit Ethernet infrastructures are used to guarantee bandwidth and availability. Gigabit modules for the switch support Moxa's Turbo Ring for network redundancy, which can recover from network disconnections within 50 ms.
The Turbo Ring is designed to handle a variety of infrastructures through functions such as ring coupling and dual-homing, and the switch's four Gigabit ports ensure high bandwidth communication between connected rings.
The switch's modular design allows the switch to be expanded through interchangeable Gigabit and Fast Ethernet modules with SFP, copper, and fibre-optic (SC/ST) connectors.
The switch design provides users with the flexibility to handle future network needs and has received industry recognition, including the iF Product Design Award and Taiwan's Good Design Product recognition that represents a guarantee of outstanding product quality.
