Gel-based cable joining kits

The 'Shark' cable joining kit is an insulating gel-filled cable splicing system for straight or branch joinings of low voltage cables.

Main applications include underground, direct-buried, immersed and overhead installations. Both single core and multi-core cables are catered for. Being exposed to atmospheric agents, UV rays, as well as saline atmospheres do not pose any problems.

Its primary insulation is composed of a non-toxic insulating polymer gel that is chemically inert and non-toxic, contained inside a plastic joining-box. It also has a snap action closing mechanism that allows re-accessability of the connection when needed.

The strong insulated plastic joining box ensures an optimum mechanical and electrical protection.

The main advantages include the ability to re-access the joints, no expiry date on the insulating gel, and the quick and easy installation without applications of resins.

With an operating temperature range from -20 to +90°C, it allows the Shark to be used in almost any application.
