Cryonomic (Aust), a division of Denmead Holdings Pty Ltd, has been appointed the official Australian distributor of Cryonomic dry ice cleaning equipment. Dry ice cleaning technology is claimed to be a unique, environmentally friendly technology.

This chemical-free application has the added bonus of sanitising the surface due to the low temperature of -78.5 °C, making it a better proposition for cleaning than water, which can be a breeding ground for bacteria.

Dry ice cleaning is a completely dry process. The blasting medium is made up of solid 3 mm CO2 pellets, which upon impact with the surface cause contamination to contract and become brittle through thermal shock. This weakens the bond between the contamination and the surface and helps the contamination to be released.

Upon impact, each pellet creates a miniature explosion that results in a multiplication in volume of up to 700 times. Because of the effectiveness of this process, no additional residue is created and only the loose surface contamination remains that can be swept up or vacuumed.

Because of its unique properties, previously difficult areas now become accessable to cleaning, including electrical motors and cable banks, because dry ice cleaning is a completely non-abrasive and non-conductive process.

Cryonomic dry ice cleaning also saves on downtime due to its ability to clean in-situ. Dismantling of equipment is not required, reducing manual labour and downtime.

Cryonomic dry ice cleaning solutions can be used in a variety of industries such as automotive and aerospace, plastic, rubber, printing, construction, petrochemical, power generation and the food industries.

This process is highly regarded in Europe and other countries around the world, and the company has cleaning contractors in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne that can provide Cryonomic dry ice cleaning services.
