Application inverter

The Movidrive B is an application inverter. With local sub-assembly at its Melbourne-based headquarters, SEW-Eurodrive can provide tailored Movidrive 'B' solutions to customers in less than 24 hours.

The Movidrive 'B' inverter series provides power capacities ranging from 0.55 kW through to 132 kW, for standard variable speed drives all the way up to sophisticated positioning and synchronous applications. It incorporates a multi-mode controller card that supports a broad spectrum of industrial applications. These range from the very basic control of an asynchronous motor in V/F operating mode, through to precision dynamic control of permanent magnet servomotors.

Further enhancements to Movidrive 'B' will be launched at Automate 2005. These include an external device PID controller, a 'smart' energy saving function that corrects stator magnetisation current according to load requirements, a 'KTY' motor winding temperature monitor input, and an optional 'Industrial Ethernet' communications card. New application modules have also been added to further enhance the flexibility and adaptability of the Movidrive 'B'.

Also on display at the Automate exhibition will be a live demonstration of SEW-Eurodrive's decentralised drive technology. SEW-Eurodrive's decentralised motor control systems permit the relocation of power components, plus monitoring and speed control units, to strategic positions near or on the motor. This design philosophy is suitable for use on linear conveyors and production lines with individual processing stations equipped by standardised machine elements.
