Sales and support agent appointed
Specialist environmental instrument manufacturer Opal Environmental has appointed Yokogawa Australia as sales and support agents for the Opal opacity monitor range.
Under the agreement, Yokogawa will be responsible for the sales, service and support of Opal opacity meters and all peripheral products throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Designed and manufactured in Australia, the Opal monitors claim to be the first optical-based opacity analysis system ever manufactured in Australia and use a light beam to detect and measure the density of dust and similar particles.
They are based on a simple design philosophy well grounded in contemporary technology and have achieved strong recognition and user acceptance throughout Australasia for their quality, performance and reliability.
They have been subject to a rigorous test program. The first test units were put in the field some three years ago at sites including a cement plant and a power station. According to latest reports, the test units are still operating perfectly and, like subsequent production models, have never suffered an equipment or component failure.
"The Opal monitor range is a strong addition to our portfolio," said Mike Wallis, national manager, process analyser solutions at Yokogawa Australia.
"It complements our existing Zirconia analyser product line-up and also gives us full capacity in the CEMS sector. We have already identified a number of synergies between the Opal and Zirconia analysers and strategies are being put in place to bring the results to the marketplace."
