Safety manufacturing facility expanded

Balluff-Leuze is celebrating having supplied over 5000 optical safety units into the Australian Market in the last 10 years.
With local production accounting for over 3000 safety light curtain and light grid units, and at a time when a lot of manufacturers are shifting their production offshore, Balluff-Leuze is expanding the Australian facility to include more products into the line-up.
"Customers are demanding better value for money, and they want better service," said Ken McNabb, national product manager from Balluff-Leuze.
With the increasing requirement of faster delivery times and better service, this has justified the expense of setting up all the equipment to test and assemble the light curtains. Also, the added ability to locally produce safety light grids for perimeter guarding applications will further increase the ability to support a growing number of users with faster deliveries and service.
The facility provides the company with the ability to perform more service locally without relying as much on having to send items to Germany should they need repairs. The expanded facility is due to come on line in August 2007.
