Rockwell Automation speaks safety

Tuesday, 06 February, 2007

At Safety in Action 2007 in March, Rockwell Automation will present a paper exploring how safety control - when properly implemented - can dramatically increase the efficiency of modern manufacturing applications.

Lyle Masimore, global business manager for Rockwell Automation's safety sensing and connectivity business, will deliver the presentation titled: "How safety control innovations are increasing productivity of lean manufacturing applications'.

Focusing on overcoming safety-related challenges presented by the increasing uptake of lean manufacturing strategies, the safety presentation will detail how advanced safety technologies and processes are being used to lower manufacturers' operating costs.

The Rockwell Automation safety lecture will include case studies detailing recent safety control installations, and highlight some of the current "best practices' in safety control assessment and network architecture design.

These will be discussed in the context of delivering improved machine safety, simplifying safety system operation, and reducing repair and maintenance costs. The presentation will outline how manufacturers can streamline their safety control networks - whether implementing new installations or integrating into an existing control system.

Masimore heads up the global machine safety activities within Rockwell Automation and is responsible for safety products, such as safety relays, interlock switches, light curtains and safety PLCs.

The Rockwell Automation presentation is scheduled for 21 March at 10:00 am.
