As Australia experiences an over 18,000 shortfall of engineers, Chandler Macleod has re-launched strengthened specialist brand Entec to help clients attract the best talent.

With $100 billion in infrastructure projects planned around the country by 2010, Australia's leading employers of engineers are realising they need to actively attract engineering personnel as they seek to address the increasing skills shortage.

Robin Tarr, executive general manager of Entec, said that smart employers were responding to the skill shortage by making genuine efforts to meet the needs of contract engineering personnel. This includes increased monetary offers and enhanced benefits, in order to promote longer-term and more secure partnerships.

Tarr says the re-launch of the Entec brand was a direct result of a number of high-profile engineering clients and candidates asking for a dedicated specialist engineering service to be provided by the company.
