With a focus on Europe, Omron and Yaskawa have formed a joint venture company called Omron Yaskawa Motion Control BV, based in Hoofddorp, Holland.
Over the past 10 yeas, Omron and Yaskawa have maintained an OEM relationship for motion control products and now both companies will engage in joint sales activities. The new company will handle sales, technical support and customer service for standard motion control products from Yaskawa (inverters, thermo drives, etc) and motion related products from Omron (motion units for PLCs, etc).
Yaskawa standard motion control products will be sold under the double brand name of Omron Yaskawa. With the new joint venture, Omron will expand its business with strengthened solution capabilities for integrated motion automation and Yaskawa will move its standard motion control product sales function to the new company and will concentrate on direct sales business to leading customers.
