Mining expo

The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) Board has agreed to join with Rockhampton City Council (RCC), Rockhampton Tourist & Business Information Inc (RTBI) and Central Queensland University (CQU) in the staging of the inaugural Queensland Resources Expo (QREX) to be held 23-26 May 2007 in Rockhampton.

Major elements of the expo include:

  • one-day conference: Resourcing for the Future
  • gala industry dinner
  • three-day trade and industry exhibition at Rockhampton Showgrounds
  • educate and inspire centre
  • seminars and workshops
  • tours
  • hypothetical: Who's keeping the lights on in 2050?
  • industry skills competitions including welding competition
  • supply chain networking
  • industry training.

QREX is a celebration of the resources industry contribution to the region, state and the nation - now, and into the future, embracing mining, minerals processing, electricity generation and the infrastructure providers who support these activities.
