Australian software developer Mainpac Pty Ltd has thrown its support behind the maintenance and asset management discipline by becoming the principal sponsor of the 2005 Australian Maintenance Engineering Excellence Awards (AMEEA).

The awards are made by the Maintenance Engineering Society of Australia (MESA), a Technical Society of Engineers Australia (EA). They are announced annually at the International Conference of Maintenance Societies which this year is being held in Hobart.

This year platinum, gold, silver and bronze awards will be made against seven criteria to organisations achieving the highest standards in asset management and maintenance engineering.

Submissions must meet criteria in the following categories: management and leadership, asset management and maintenance culture, asset acquisition, maintenance plan development, maintenance action, performance evaluation, and analysis and improvement.

MESA expects to see an increase in nominations from major industries such as oil and gas, mining and refining and power.
