Logistics mentoring in NSW and Vic

After five years of success in NSW, the LAA/APICS Mentoring Program is expanding to Victoria in 2008.

Expressions of Interest are now sought from experienced professional logisticians and less senior practitioners in NSW and Victoria who would like to participate as mentor or mentees.

The program offers mentees an opportunity to talk through the issues they may face in their work life and to explore the options available to them in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Group meetings and site visits add to the learning experience, providing participants with an increased opportunity to network.

Organisers claim a mentee’s knowledge and experience of supply chain issues will have increased by two to three years by the end of the program.

Mentors attend a free half-day training program facilitated by a professional mentoring trainer. Mentees also attend a two-hour induction session — ensuring that they understand the mentoring relationship and are able to establish realistic expectations and set clear goals.
