Electrical equipment can be tested in complete compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Australasian standards due to state-of-the-art testing equipment launched by O'Donnell Griffin.
The company has launched the Seaward Supernova XE Appliance Tester, Australia's first electrical testing system that adheres to the strict requirements of AS/NZS 3760:2001.
Colin Jinks, O'Donnell Griffin's Electrical Safety Manager said the traditional use of a multimeter and an insulation tester to test electrical appliances may fail to meet all the requirements that electrical testing must now adhere to.
"Previously electrical appliances were manually tested and the results were recorded by hand which introduced human error and placed organisations at risk of accidents that occur due to shocks from misused or faulty electrical equipment," he said.
The Seaward Supernova XE Appliance Tester is an automated computer-based system that tests electrical appliances and then prints highly visible test tags detailing appliance number, barcode, test date, user name and test status.
The system also has administration and reporting efficiencies via hard copy or optional software-based test reports that are accurate, accountable and cannot be altered.
