Grundfos acquires German pump manufacturer
Wednesday, 24 March, 2004
Danish pump manufacturer Grundfos Group has acquired more than 94% of the German-based pump manufacturer Hilge.
Grundfos develops and manufactures pumps for the fluid transportation segment specialising in industrial pumps and digital dosing pumps, while Hilge focuses on the development of pumps for the food and pharmaceutical industries.
According to Grundfos executives, the products of the two companies will not be competing with each other. Hilge's quality stainless steel pumps are considered a valuable addition to their existing product line. No product rationalisation or elimination is expected. This is a continuation of Grundfos' strategy of acquiring small companies to enter new markets or to expand its product offerings.
