Engineering conference

Engineers Australia's Engineering Australia 2006 conference, to be held in Sydney on 30-31 March, will tackle the issues of training, skilling and attracting good engineering recruits.

The conference will examine Australia's position from a global recruitment and educational perspective. Industry experts will discuss strategies for improving skills and career paths for current employees.

Some of the presenters will include GHD CEO Des Whybird, Sinclair Knight Merz CEO Paul Dougas, president elect of the World Federation of Engineering Organisations and Engineers Australia past president Barry Grear, Engineers Australia president Peter Cockbain, Engineers Australia CEO Peter Taylor, the president of the Australian Council of Engineering Deans Professor Archie Johnston, the chair of the Centre for Engineering Leadership and Management Air Vice-Marshal Julie Hammer and the education coordinator of the Natural Edge Project and Young Professional Engineer of the Year Cheryl Paten.
