Tuesday, 02 March, 2004
Keen interest in EMEX 2004 as New Zealand's leading showcase for industrial technology is indicated by exhibitor bookings currently coming in almost twice as fast as they did for the successful 2002 event.
Running from 11 to 13 May 2004 at Auckland Showgrounds, Greenlane, the Engineering Machinery and Electronics Exhibition is already over 60% booked out. The show promises to be relevant to virtually all New Zealand industries as it features the latest technology in machine tooling, automation, measurement, monitoring, control, instrumentation, communications and computer systems. Exhibition sales manager Mike Lust, of dmg world media, notes that technology has advanced substantially since the 2002 event. "I see growing interest in exhibiting technology which contributes to competitiveness, quality and efficiency," he says.
The 2002 event attracted nearly 8000 trade buyers to view 188 stands including many booked by offshore organisations.
"Many organisations are booking larger stands than last time and there will be much more advanced technology on display," says Lust.
The organisers visitor visitor statistics from the last event indicating key areas of interest such as CAD/CAM, software, electrical, labelling and tracking, materials handling, robotics and technology dealing with vibration, calibration and alignment. Welding, cutting and industrial plastics are also likely to feature strongly.
The organisers also point out that EMEX 2004 will be geared to provide compelling information for managers from technical, financial, corporate, marketing and purchasing disciplines. Special interest will also be provided for technicians and tradespeople.
