Control Microsystems, a SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) equipment manufacturer headquartered in Canada, and Serck Controls, a SCADA systems engineering company headquartered in Australia, formed a global strategic alliance in November 2004 to leverage technology, manufacturing and market opportunities.
As part of the strategic alliance, Serck Controls now focuses on providing full-solution system integration services in established markets, while Control Microsystems is responsible for the marketing and sales of both companies' HMI/SCADA products.
Late in July 2005, Control Microsystems released ClearSCADA, a SCADA software solution that is aimed at challenging bigger global players in the SCADA software marketplace. ClearSCADA is built on the SCX6 software platform developed by Serck Controls that answers industry demands for integrated solutions.
Both companies target the oil and gas production, water and wastewater management, and power and utilities industries as well as other process markets that require robust control and monitoring solutions.
