The globalisation of Ampcontrol continues with the announcement that the company has purchased a major UK-based company.

Allenwest Wallacetown employs 90 people and operates a modern manufacturing facility just outside Glasgow, Scotland. The company is a specialist designer and manufacturer of flameproof electrical distribution and motor control equipment for hazardous areas.

Its major customers are the underground coal mines and oil and gas facilities in the UK, Europe, Russia, China and South Africa.

This purchase signals a shift by Ampcontrol into the core business of energy. With investments in power quality products, green technology and power distribution, the company will be at the forefront of providing the world with safe and environmentally friendly power well into the future.
