BASF and ABB sign global partnership
Tuesday, 15 April, 2003
ABB, the global power and automation technology group, and BASF AG, a world leading chemical company, signed an agreement for the supply of DCS-Systems to BASF facilities worldwide.
The agreement comprises Operate IT distributed control systems (DCS), Control IT controllers and other controllers of the Melody and Freelance series.
The agreement also includes engineering services, documentation, FAT (factory acceptance test) training and maintenance. The agreement grants BASF global contract terms, which will lead to uniform purchasing procedures worldwide and standardised technology.
The agreement will pave the way for future agreements between BASF and ABB, like the price agreement for Field IT instrumentation that is already signed, and another agreement for Analyze IT, which is currently under negotiation.
