AEEMA awards

High technology manufacturing excellence was in the spotlight at the biennial Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (AEEMA) Excellence Awards held in Melbourne on Wednesday 18 October.

The awards bring to light the achievements of individual Australian manufacturing companies and share some of the industry's many global success stories. Awards for excellence and innovation were presented across 10 categories.

ADC Krone won the Excellence in Smart Manufacturing, impressing the judges with sustained commitment to systematic and continuous improvement across all areas of its operations, including environmental management using innovative strategies.

Peregrine Semiconductor Australia took the AusIndustry Award for Excellence in Innovation and Commercialisation of R&D. Sydney-based start-up company, CAP-XX, aided by industrial design team, Invetech, was highly commended in this category for a power storage device capable of meeting the needs of the ever-growing energy demands of mobile wireless products, notebook computers and digital cameras, as well as an endless array of emerging medical, automotive and industrial applications.
