Schneider Electric has released Ampla v4.1, manufacturing execution system (MES) software, which delivers a sustainable technical platform with functionality that significantly reduces the costs of implementation and maintenance for MES.
Ampla’s synchronisation functionality detects changes in the master data definitions and also provides an integrated configuration environment where conflicts can be reviewed and actioned. The solution is designed to synchronise with a number of different master data sources including SAP PM, G2 and UAG. Ampla leverages open standards technology such as OPC and ISA-95/88 and automatically schedules synchronisations with any ISA-95/88 or compatible master data source.
By associating Ampla data with ISA-95 models, customers are able to define and capture more detailed information relating to equipment, material and personnel. Plant operators will be empowered with additional contextual information to make better decisions that can pre-empt stoppages, reduce maintenance and increase productivity. Ampla Templates can also assist with standardising KPIs to benchmark operational capability across multiple plants.
Enhancements to Ampla’s web services provide better data reliability through transactions, best practice fault management and better handling of bulk MES data. There is now also built-in functionality to collect and transfer data from external databases, such as LIMS, as well as the ability to connect and obtain data directly from Wonderware’s Historian, opening a significant source of plant floor data.
More stable and consistent connections are also now available with redundant OPC connections for those with back-up data sources.
