Asset management software

FactoryTalk AssetCentre is an asset management software package which enables users to securely and centrally manage ever-changing process automation production environments. FactoryTalk AssetCentre streamlines asset management, improves plant-floor security and protects intellectual property by securing access to control systems, tracking user actions, managing asset configuration files, configuring process instruments and providing backup and recovery of operating assets.

FactoryTalk AssetCentre is part of Rockwell Automation’s FactoryTalk integrated production and performance suite of software. Featuring a centralised Microsoft SQL server database, FactoryTalk AssetCentre is equipped with common base functions, as well as add-on options. Base functions include an audit trail resource, version control, scheduling, notification and reporting capabilities.

The audit trail function allows users to centrally track and manage not only the configuration changes that occur in a facility but also the people who are able to perform these functions. It provides a documented audit trail including information on the user, device, computer, time and action taken.

FactoryTalk AssetCentre leverages the SQL database to provide automatic version control. This simplifies file management and maintains the single-master relationship. Supported documents include automation configuration files, programs, Microsoft Office documents, CAD files and more.

Using the scheduling function, FactoryTalk AssetCentre can be configured to routinely perform system back-ups, while the notification functionality allows a designated user to be alerted when predefined system events occur, such as a completed, aborted or failed schedule, or rogue candidate detection. The reporting capability allows the user to generate comprehensive reports based on scheduled and on-demand searches.
