Schneider Electric’s Harmony biometric switches are based on sophisticated fingerprint recognition, and are designed to help eliminate security risks associated with lost, forgotten or stolen keys, cards and passwords.

The switches allow industrial users to limit access to specific or dangerous machine functions to trained and authorised operators. Designed for use in industrial environments, the entire range offers IP65 water and dust protection, 50 gn shock and vibration resistance, -5 to +55°C operating temperature range, and a response time of less than 1 s.

Benefits include: increased security, due to user database management and access-attempt logging capabilities; increased productivity, by enabling simple and quick touch entry for authorised users; smart access control, with the ability to assign different clearance levels; and reliability, due to the ruggedised design and high-performance specifications.
