ReeR Janus M-Series safety light curtain

The ReeR Janus M-Series safety light curtain is a multi-beam optoelectronic Type 4 safety system, complying with IEC61496-1,2 EN61496-1 for the protection of persons exposed to dangerous machinery or plant.

The light curtain consists of an active element (containing the emitter and the receiver) and a passive element, consisting of pre-aligned reflectors, capable of reflecting the strip of infrared light.

Available systems include 2-beam models (covering a distance of 500 mm), 3-beam models (distance 400 mm) and 4-beam models (distance 300 mm).

The Janus M-Series is suitable for protecting automatic palletising/depalletising and other materials handling and storage systems, packing and packaging machines, assembly lines, industrial automatic warehouses including automatic guided vehicle transit openings, and tooling and manufacturing machines.

The vertical systems can be coupled with external ground-mounted sensors to protect danger areas. Power supply is 24 V ±20%, with two safe static PNP outputs with short-circuit protection. There are displays for auto-diagnostics of faults, built-in user-selectable manual or automatic restart, and built-in external devices monitoring capability.

The Janus M TRX integrates the muting function as well as the main related safety functions, and ML TRX and MT TRX models integrate the muting sensors as well, on pre-wired and pre-aligned sensor elements using the same retro-reflection principle as the safety light curtain.

The muting function generates a temporary, automatic interruption of safety light curtain operation in order to permit normal transit of material through the guarded opening. Maximum muting timeout is user selectable.
