Phoenix Contact RFC 470 PN 3TX safety PLC

Tuesday, 14 February, 2012 | Supplied by: Phoenix Contact Pty Ltd

The compact safety PLC RFC 470 PN 3TX has been designed for installation in control cabinets and complies with safety categories SIL3 (EN ISO 61508), SIL CL3 (EN ISO 62061), PLe/Cat 4 (EN ISO 13849) and Cat 4 (EN 954). The Profisafe safety controller - decoupled from the hardware - checks the safety logic for consistency and correctness before a safety output is set. The Safetyprog tool, which can be directly integrated into the PC WORX engineering environment, is used to program the safety logic. A simulation mode permits comprehensive testing of the standard and safety logic before the program is downloaded into the hardware.

The safety controller has ethernet and Interbus interfaces. Because it functions as a Profinet IO controller/device, the controller either operates as higher-level Profisafe PLC in a Profinet network or can be addressed from a higher-level Profinet-capable controller as Profinet IO device - depending on the requirement. If it operates as a Profisafe PLC, the user can couple up to 170 Profisafe devices depending on the telegram length of the Profisafe participants.

The fully graphic diagnostics display integrated in the safety controller shows the state of the individual operating modes as well as error and diagnostic messages in plain text. Using the Diag+ diagnostic software as part of PC WORX or as stand-alone solution, comprehensive diagnostics are displayed at the PC.
