Laser safety sensor

Monday, 01 December, 2008 | Supplied by: Jemtech Pty Ltd

The Shrike series of laser sensors for long-folder guarding installations has been upgraded in model SH-L600.

It has a redesigned housing, fully moulded from polyurethane resins and rigidly built around a steel mounting plate. The design controls laser drift caused by thermal expansion and contraction of the mounting materials.

The unit now has a 6-pin plug, allowing quick replacement by unskilled personnel should the unit become damaged — an important feature in sheet metal shops producing guttering and flashing for building. The plug is complemented by leads of 1 or 8 m with 4 m extension cables also available.

The unit uses red laser light of less than 1 mW output and is compatible with the Vigilante range of safety controllers.
