The DMM4 extension module from SICK is designed to enhance efficiency by enabling fully configurable muting applications with SICK’s deTec4 safety light curtain and deTem4 safety multi-beam sensor.

With DMM4 and Safety Designer software, users can individually configure muting parameters and access advanced features such as smart restart interlock and partial muting modes. This level of flexibility is designed for precise differentiation between humans and transported materials, optimising safety without disrupting material flow.

Benefits include maximising machine uptime with customisable, application-specific muting configurations, and reducing installation effort with 10 direct connections for muting sensors, safety command devices, and up to three safety sensors. It is also possible to switch between different muting modes while machines are running. Process efficiency can be improved with an object size-dependent smart restart interlock, minimising downtime caused by small objects.

Integration and maintenance is simplified with easy device connections that reduce cabling and commissioning efforts, while space utilisation is optimised as even closely positioned safety devices remain unaffected by one another.
