Pilz myPNOZ modular safety relay system
As a batch size 1 safety relay, the myPNOZ is a modular system designed to deliver tailored safety solutions for diverse industrial applications.
The system comprises a head module and up to eight expansion modules, allowing safe monitoring of 2 to 30 input functions, and has been enhanced with more modules for greater flexibility.
More safe inputs are now available in one module with the yi5 input module offering four safe inputs, reducing the number of modules needed for the same number of safety functions. A “Group OR” functionality can now also be implemented with the yi6 input module, allowing several linked safe input functions to be used as alternatives. This is useful in situations where users can have multiple safety inputs that can be used interchangeably, for example, if the application requires that grouped safe input functions in automatic mode can be overridden by another safe input function in manual mode.
Safe guard locking on gate systems can now be controlled and monitored with the yi7 input module, which is useful for safety gate monitoring with the safety locking devices PSENmlock and PSENslock. The module can also control and monitor all other common guard locking devices.
The yi8 input module is specifically designed for monitoring sensors with one normally closed and one normally open contact, such as the PSENmag magnetic safety switch or the PSENopt 2S/4S safety light barriers, and the yo5 output module has four outputs, of which two delay-on or delay-off outputs may be combined with two direct switching outputs.
