Schneider Electric has launched CitectSCADA v7.20, designed to extend and enhance the performance, quality and security of previous versions. CitectSCADA v7.20 is intended to provide a seamless system that integrates real-time process and equipment information for improved operator effectiveness, simplified engineering and tighter security.
The system improves remote monitoring capabilities through the addition of a Pelco camera interface. This integration allows operators to view live video and control camera movements.
Operators also have access to improved real-time operational intelligence through extended tag information. They can obtain quality, time-stamped data as well as override the values from the field in case of a faulty device or communications.
Users also have the ability to reload many types of server side changes made offline onto the SCADA system without compromising data availability or stopping the system, as was previously necessary.
System configuration time can also be reduced by taking advantage of a tabbed-style interface that follows the ribbon interface style of Microsoft Office applications, and easier-to-use alarm displays.
The system is now also fully compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 2008 server, as well as supporting Active Directory groups, enabling users to take advantage of the increased data protection built into the operating system.
