Omron Electronics has released version 3 of CX-One. Running on Windows Vista and built-in Omron’s SmartPlatform technology, CX-One programs nearly all of Omron’s industrial components, including the latest PLCs, HMIs, networks, VSDs, servos and temperature controllers.
CX-One v3 introduces support for EtherNet/IP for both PLCs and HMIs. A new Network Configurator has been released, especially for EtherNet/IP. It provides full monitoring functions and data link set up for high-speed communication between PLCs. It also allows third-party devices to be configured to work within Omron networks. Support for CompoNet has also been enhanced with the update of CX-Integrator.
CX-Programmer, the PLC programming package, now supports the latest CPUs, including the CJ2H, which introduced several new constructs for Ladder programming. Additionally, the entire PLC memory contents can be backed up and restored, in case of CPU replacement. Throughout program development, single-key strokes can be used for simplified operation and reduced programming time.
CX-Designer, the HMI programming software, now incorporates support for the latest features, including web serving, PictBridge connections and scalable screen changeovers. A number of smaller enhancements have been added to the HMI range and their support is included in CX-Designer v3.
Other CX-One improvements include the update of CX-Drive, which supports both variable-speed drives and servo systems. A low-cost upgrade is available to existing users.
