Furzy Electronics C601 mobile machine controller
The C601 controller from Furzy Electronics has been designed for mobile machine monitoring applications and for installations where physical size is an important consideration.
The controller is currently in use on an underground coal mining machine, and would also be suitable for some rail and other industrial mobile machine monitoring applications.
The controller features an isolated power supply and isolated RS485 interface enabling a distributed monitoring system to be implemented. The nominal operating supply voltage is 12 VDC. The controller can monitor eight sensors and provides two DPDT (8A contacts) and 3 SPST (5A contacts) relays for process control.
The sensor inputs can be tailored to the controller application, including gain or attenuation and current source or load to 0 V. Voltage, current (4-20 mA), pulse type (open collector) and resistive sensor (PT100, thermistor) inputs can be specified. An option card can be developed and added to the controller for other sensor types.
There is an internal programming connection that can also be used to make a serial connection to external debugging systems or a PC over an asynchronous serial or IIC link.
Installation wiring connections are made by the internal crimp connectors; alternatively, the controller can be supplied with a wiring harness with external connectors. The enclosure is sufficiently sealed for operation in areas subject to some dust and moisture. Physical dimensions are 145 x 85 x 60 mm not including external wiring harness.
