Swing check valves in thermoplastic

Praher Valves has expanded its range with the introduction of the new-generation K4 Swing Check Valve in PVC, PP, PPGF (polypropylene glass filled) and PVDF, for applications involving water and most chemicals, up to 10 bar pressure.

The valve is a wafer style, with a body featuring universal mounting holes making these valves suitable for use with BS, DIN, ANSI, ASTM and JIS flanges. Seal options are EPDM and FPM.

The wide opening angle of the flap (83°) ensures higher flow rates and lower pressure drops. The design of the body eliminates the need to provide an additional spacer piece or pipe extension to prevent fouling of the flap on the inside diameter of the pipe.

All wetted parts are made from corrosion-resistant thermoplastic and an open/closed optical position indicator is provided as standard. Valve closing is spring assisted by the inclusion of nested springs in the non-wetted area of the valve, and by using a combination of the springs provided, optimum spring settings can be made for application pressures of 3, 7 and 10 bar.

It is available in sizes from DN65 (2-1/2") to DN300 (12"). The design incorporates a reinforced flap and support lugs on the inside of the body to minimise the risk of flap breakage as a result of shock or 'water hammer'.
