The Grundfos catalogue of sanitary products for the food and pharmaceutical industries has been expanded to include a range of rotary lobe pumps that offer reliable, efficient and hygienic solutions for difficult pumping conditions in food and sanitary process applications.

Known as Novalobe, these robust sanitary pumps handle a variety of applications including pumping high-viscosity food such as chocolate and honey; food with solids such as fruit yoghurt; sensitive living organisms such as yeast; and even shear sensitive fluids such as blood.

The precision-made stainless steel pump has many advantages ranging from easy servicing through to a choice of numerous rotor designs for specific applications, consistent and reliable performance, wide-ranging operational temperatures and outstanding life cycle costs.

Novalobe pumps have front-loading mechanical seals which enable easy and quick servicing and minimum down time. Installation is made easy through the flexibility provided by the height adjustable feet.

The pump shafts have minimal overhang and play, and have been designed to withstand torrid operational forces. Its design ensures that the rotor can only fit in one position and that rotor movement is kept within the tightest tolerance. The Novalobe delivers pressure of up to 16 bars and can handle product temperatures of up to 150°C.

The Grundfos Novalobe can handle food viscosity to 1,000,000 cp, and food solids up to 35 mm.
