Hydac AutoFilt RF3 automatic backflushing filter
The AutoFilt RF3 automatic backflushing filter is designed for continuous filtration applications, including those in power stations, chemical and steel industries, in sewage treatment plants and environmental technology.
It can be used as a self-cleaning system for extracting particles from low-viscosity fluids and a range of filters of different sizes allows flow rates of up to 10,000 m³ per hour.
The filter features conical or conical/cylindrical filter elements. In control modes EPT and PT the flushing arm remains under each filter element for only a few seconds. Rapid opening of the pneumatic back-flushing valve generates a pressure surge in the openings of the filter elements that provides an additional cleaning effect to the back-flushing process.
The fluid to be filtered flows through the slotted-tube filter elements of the backflushing filter (with filtration capacity of 50 to 3000 µm), passing from the inside to the outside. Contamination particles then collect on the smooth inside of the filter elements. As the level of contamination increases, the differential pressure between the contaminated and clean sides of the filter increases.
Backflushing is triggered automatically when the triggering differential pressure is exceeded, by means of an adjustable timer or when the test key is pressed.
As soon as backflushing has been triggered, the filter starts to regenerate the filter elements. In the backflushing cycle all the filter elements are flushed in succession and the cycle is terminated when all the filter elements have been cleaned.
