Champion Compressors has extended its V-Series variable speed drive (VSD) compressor family with the addition of two models: the CSE37V and the CSE45V.
Champion claims that the V-series is suited to fluctuating-load industrial applications and can significantly improve energy efficiency. VSD compressors typically have an optimum tip speed ‘envelope’ within which they operate most efficiently. This corresponds to approximately 30-70% load, so VSD compressors are best used for applications in this load range. Champion claims the extended V-series is capable of running from as little as 14% load right up to 100% load for extended periods, without risk of overheating or damage to the motor.
The CSE37V has a 37 kW output, with working pressures from 7.5 to 13 bar delivered at rates up to 103 L/s. The larger CSE45V variant has a 45 kW output, with working pressures from 7.5 to 13 bar delivered at rates up to 123 L/s.
The V-Series is designed for the reliability and performance required for continuous operation in the hot, humid and dusty conditions.
