Burkert 8791, 8792 and 8793 valve positioners
A series of digital positioners that provide zero air bleed at rest position have been released.
The 8791 Basic positioner, 8792 positioner and 8793 positioner with integral process controller are designed for use with quarter turn and linear process valves, as well as most pneumatically controlled instruments such as non-Bürkert valves, cylinders and dampers. The positioners are available as direct-mount or remote versions, all with IP65/67.
A large, backlit LCD guides direct four-button programming giving the option of computer or direct inputs as well as direct parameter readout. The devices also come with built-in multitier security settings.
The digital positioners have an integrated pilot valve system that uses filtered and recycled air, avoiding contamination by poor quality air (a frequent cause of positioner failure). The pilot system is designed for low air use and no air use at the rest position. The positioners can control up to 150 L/min for both spring-return and double-acting actuators.
The Type 8792 positioner is the standard model. The Type 8791 Basic delivers most standard features with LED indication rather than LCD. It is programmed via computer or DIP switches. A panel-mount version of the Basic is also available.
The Type 8793 positioner with integral process controller has full PID on board, designed for discrete control loops or true DCS with network interface. With pt100, frequency and 4-20 mA inputs as well as 4-20 mA and two binary outputs, each Type 8793 can replace multiple components from a traditional control loop.
